Beebot Rally Track - Primary Maths Game

The Beebot Rally Track is like a magnet to children as they love to see if they can program Beebot to travel the whole way around the track without crashing into any of the people or barriers. Like all of the Beebot materials, each turn is based on a clockwise or anticlockwise right angle turn and the appropriate keys are easily identified by children as the right and left arrows on the top of Beebot.&;&;

When first introducing your child to the Beebot Rally Track, I would suggest that you let him/her program Beebot to move one step at a time. As your child becomes more confident, encourage him/her to key in all of the moves for one side of the track or for the next key section. It will not be long before your child is keying in all of the information to get Beebot to move from the Start to the Finish line.

If you want to challenge your child further and encourage more flexible thinking, ask him/her to program Beebot to travel backwards around the track in reverse order.&; Any use of this track will help your child develop the following thinking skills:

• trial and improvement reasoning
• problem solving spatial awareness
• directions and turning
• develops Thinking Skills
• encourages Simple Programming
• challenging and very motivating
• integral part of the maths curriculum
