Place Value Rods Activity Set - Primary Maths

The Place Value Rods Activity Set is a very useful tool for helping children represent a number in standard (1, 236), expanded (1000 + 200 + 30 + 6) and written format (one thousand, two hundred and thirty six).
The kit contains:
• 70 place value rods: 10 of each of the following values: units, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, hundred thousands and millions
• 1 double sided write and wipe activity mat

Each rod value is a different size and colour, making each rod value represent a different place value. The rods connect from the top and from the side. This allows your child to build and represent numbers.

On one side of the dry wipe mat, your child can practise building selected numbers and recording them in standard, written and expanded form using a colour coded chart. On the reverse side your child can create his/her own standard and expanded numbers, beginning with units and progressing to millions.
